Domain workstation indexing agents
To optimize the work of SearchInform search engine in the corporate sector, a new network information indexing policy has been adopted in the corporate sector. Agent programs get installed on each computer. Without them system could only index shared data in the open access.
Agent programs allow you to index all available information on specified computers in company’s local network. The agent gets installed on each computer data from which needs to be indexed. The administrator can select either any computer with an agent installed, or any particular disc from that computer to be indexed and searched through.

On top of that the agent program monitors all changes occurring in files as well as appearance of new files on computer in the real time mode. The administrator sets the needed time interval for the agent to trace changes and automatically add new information to the log-file. Whenever server network is being indexed, the program scans the log file created by the agent and as a result only new and edited files get indexed.
This allows you to trace all appearances of confidential information in unsanctioned locations.
This also saves time and decreases the server workload at reindexing.
Connector of the indexed work station file storage
Connector allows you to place all indexed information from all network computers into a special storage, located on the server. The fact that the storage is located on the server allows the user to conduct search through all information regardless of the computer it was indexed on, so even if the computer containing needed information is switched off, the information will still be found.
If certain files were deleted from the computer by accident, they will still be available in the storage for a set period of time. The size of the storage and the time intervals throughout which the information will be stored in it are defined by the user.
