DICTIONARY OF SYNONYMS
When looking for information there may arise a necessity to use synonyms for the words used most often in the text. It may also happen that various synonyms are used for the same notion in different documents.
SearchInform gives you the possibility to create lists of synonyms for the expressions that interest you most. As the work of the search system does not depend on the language in the documents for every language it is possible to create lists of synonyms of your own. Introducing additional synonyms will not only make search easier but also make it more accurate and effective.
Synonyms are used for determining the words similar in sense but different in terms of morphology. Basically you “teach” the search program to perceive these words as the same. Let us bring a simple example. Say you want to conduct search by the word ‘information’. Naturally, search will output all the variants of documents where the word ‘information’ occurs. Application of morphology will allow you to find also the variants like say ‘informational’, ‘informative’ and so on.
So the options for search are out. But what would we say about ‘data’, ‘knowledge’ and so on? Application of synonyms allows SearchInform to consider all the variants. As a result the quality of search would increase considerably.
