Connector of the indexed work station file storage
Connector allows you to place all indexed information from all network computers into a special storage, located on the server. The fact that the storage is located on the server allows the user to conduct search through all information regardless of the computer it was indexed on, so even if the computer containing needed information is switched off, the information will still be found.
If certain files were deleted from the computer by accident, they will still be available in the storage for a set period of time. The size of the storage and the time intervals throughout which the information will be stored in it are defined by the user.
Domain work stations indexing agents
A new way of organizing information indexing in the local network was adopted to optimize the work of SearchInform search system in the corporate sector. Agent programs get installed on each computer. Without them the program could only index the data in the open access.
Agent programs allow the user to index all available information from given computers in the local network of an enterprise. For that the agent is installed on each computer, the data from which is to be indexed. Moreover, the administrator can select any computer with an installed agent as well as any disk from that computer to be indexed.

Besides that, the agent program can track the changes taking place in files as well as spot the new files on the computer almost immediately after their appearance. The administrator sets a time interval for the agent to check for new documents and changes in the old ones and automatically update the log file with new information. When the server starts indexing network files, the program browses the log created by the agent and picks out only new and altered files for indexing.
This saves time and lessens the server’s load when indexing.
