SearchInform server Connectors

Initially SearchInform Server indexes only file systems.

Connectors are the plug-ins that broaden the functional capacities of SearchInformServer.

Database connectors

• MS Acess database – indexes Access data bases automatically as well as .mdb files on discs.
• DataBase fields – indexes any SQL data bases. Either a field or a group of fields within one record can serve as a unit for indexing.
• Lotus Notes – ready data source for connecting to any database that has Lotus Notes drivers installed in its system.
• Database SQL - indexes SQL databases. Any SQL query can serve as a unit for indexing.
• Database update – ability to track the changes introduced into the data base after last indexing. It is used in geographically distributed systems with single data processing center.
• SourceSafe Connector – connector enabling you to conduct search in the SourceSafe source code storage system.

Connectors for integrating with other systems

• ABBYY Recognition Server Connector – enables you to conduct search in scanned electronic documents read by ABBYY Recognition Server.

Web Spider

• Web Spider - allows you to download and index information from the Internet.

Client connectors

• Client packages – increasing the number of clients working with the server at the same time (10, 20, 50, 100).
• Web Interface – to work with the indexes created on the server through the web interface.

Connectors of scalability

• Managing Server is a separate server that co-ordinates the clusters.
• Cluster architecture connector. The connector supports cluster architecture, which allows you to include the server into a cluster and work with the managing server.
• Cashing server increases capacity for queries up to 3-5 times.

Work station indexing connectors

• Connector of the indexed work station file storage allows you to place all indexed information from all network computers into a special storage located on the server.
• Domain work stations indexing agents are agent-programs that index all available information from given computers in the local network of an enterprise.
