SearchInform Technologies Inc. introduces a new version of SearchInform 3.5.01 with support of Lotus databases and automatic recognition of attribute field formats.
April 04, 2007 — SearchInform Technologies Inc. introduces a new version of SearchInform, a corporate system of full text search and search for documents with similar content in large databases, featuring added support of Lotus databases with automatic recognition of attribute field formats.
The programnow contains a ready data source for connecting to any database that has Lotus Notes drivers installed in its system. Lotus Notes with its e-mail, calendar and scheduling capabilities serves as a background for a multitude of corporate document management and decision making systems, as well as for various specialized catalogues. This new feature is one of the results of a recent partnership agreement between IBM and SearchInform.
When first examining Lotus Notes databases SearchInform automatically recognizes the format of documents’ attribute fields, instead of having the user specify it manually, like when working with other databases. The user is only left to select whether the text should to be treated as an attribute or as a document in its own format (by default all fields are treated as attributes).
Main features of SearchInform 3.5.01:
- Phrase search with due consideration to stemming and thesaurus;
- New SoftInform Search Technology of search for similar documents;
- High indexing speed (from 15 to 30 Gb/hour);
- Index size of 15-25% from the actual size of the text data;
- Query caching system;
- Support of over 60 most popular text formats, Outlook & TheBat electronic messages, mp3 & avi tags, and logs of MSN and ICQ instant messaging programs;
- Correct work with archives;
- Universal data sources (indexing of DBMS).
