Student cheats to suffer as SearchInform combats plagiarism

SearchInform Technologies has introduced a new tool it said could help cut down on plagiarism, especially at educational institutions. It said its new PlagiatInform is able to identify plagiarism in documents automatically.

It said plagiarism currently presents a serious problem in all educational institutions. Thanks to its "unique" similar search technology, PlagiatInform solves the problem of plagiarism by first checking the work being turned in, and then comparing it to those already in the database.

If the percentage of plagiarism in the work is low, the work is divided into paragraphs and then gets compared to the database of previously submitted works, also divided into paragraphs. This allows users to identify any plagiarized extracts, and also see where exactly they were taken from and what changes have been made.

PlagiatInform's scalability capacities allow the system to work with large volumes of information, such as large collections of papers and essays, according to the firm. It can also work across geographically dispersed faculties and subsidiaries.
