These words enable to carry out the search only by words with a real subject value which makes anlysing the documents to determine their similarity more trustworthy due to focusing on their content, not mere concurrence of symbols. Read more about stop words in the "What do you need for a high-quality search?" paragraph.Undoubtedly, maximum benefit is achieved when the list of stop words is compiled most correctly. On the one hand, a small number of stop words will not ensure filtering at a due level, on the other hand, excessive effort to enlarge the stop words dictionary can lead to filling it with meaningful words, which will lead to reverse effect of using stop words. Lists of stop words are edited with the help of Stop words manager. You can open it in the following ways: - Menu "Options" - "Stop words manager" - Click the button This results in emerging of the following window: As you can see in the picture, the manager's working space is divided into two parts. On the left there is a range of languages, each with a number of words, e.g. the languages are merely groups combining the words that are similar in a certain characteristic (in this case by language). When one of the languages in the list "Languages" is selected, all the words belonging to this language will be shown in the "Stop words list" on the right.
