Search with correction of mistakes
Search with correction of mistakes is also an important function. It applies well to the search of words containing syntactic mistakes — whether it be typos or mistakes caused by the programs of symbol recognition, for instance.
Synonyms search feature uses a list of synonyms for different words. There is no list of synonyms that comes with dtSearch, but you can use that of Internet (for which you need an internet connection, which isn’t always convenient), or you can make your own list of synonyms.
Aside from already listed features, dtSearch can conduct search using phrases, consisting of words joined by logical operations. Each word in the query can be given its own set weight. There is a very useful option of using a dictionary of unimportant words, so as to exclude them from the query processing. Although that dictionary is also empty, so you’ll have to make your own.
Next, let’s take a look at the program capabilities when used in the network. Actually, there are no specific services that dtSearch offers in that area. Nonetheless, it is possible to use it in the network. You can create an index and place it in a shared folder. As for the program itself, you can separately install it on each computer, or you can also place it in a shared folder and then create tags for each user individually, using the settings of the command line described in the Help file, provided along with the program. There is also an option of an automatic installation of the program into the network with the help of MSI file. While at that, each user’s settings can be adjusted.
All in all it’s not a bad program in the line of professional search engines. Although deserving customers’ trust and respect still might be tough for dtSearch (not everything is smooth with the interface, there’s nothing extraordinary in its network use, Russian-speaking users are deprived of attention). As for the actual document search, there wasn’t see any Russian text settings neither in searching nor in morphological or fuzzy search. The system quite adequately found the required documents at the simple one-word query, as well as using a few text paragraphs as a key phrase
