Venture capital in search

SoftInform company has released a number of promising developments in the field of search engine software. At the moment, mainly thanks to ABRT venture fund’s investments, the company is starting an active expansion into the European and American markets. The fund, created by Andrei Baronov & Ratmitr Timashev, consists of $115 mln coming from the Aelita Software sale.  

Search technologies that are independent from the language have a huge market potential. According to Lev Matveyev, SoftInform’s general director “the technology is absolutely free of the morphological influence and can be customized to work with any language in no more than two weeks time”.

Ratmir Timashev, not only an investor, but also the company’s business partner stated: “there were two criteria that determined the choice of SoftInform as our first funding project: dynamic growth of the search software market and the actual presence of a promising technology”.

The amount invested into SoftInform by the foundation is not disclosed.
