A new version of SearchInform, the program of full text search and search for documents of similar content, has been released.
Changes took place in the indexing process as new features were added and the program became more convenient to work with. The new version indexes databases and conducts search in them significantly better.

New functions of SearchInform 2.4

The functional part of the program has been enhanced making it a lot more convenient to work with the program. Now the highlight mode, which highlights query matches in the found results, works fail-safe and will not let you down. Significant enhancements also took place in the phrase search.
Another innovation had to do with the indexing process: SearchInform 2.4 much better indexes mail messages from MS Outlook and TheBat! mail clients. The process of accessing these messages has been improved while the result browser window optimized.

The changes also affected the functions that in the fist place interest the corporate client. When searching in database the fields located in one table are perceived as a whole, rather than each field separately. If the query includes only last name, in the result line you can also see information on the person’s job to be sure that’s the right person and not a namesake. This specifies the search to the fullest and lets you browse additional information directly related to the query.

SearchInform 2.4 main functions:
- Phrase search with due attention to stemming and synonyms dictionary
- A new SearchInform technology of similar document search
- High indexing speed (from 15 to 30 Gb/hour)
- Index size of no more than 15-25% of the actual text information volume
- Support of over 50 popular text file formats, electronic messages Outlook and TheBat, mp3 and avi tags, as well as Microsoft Instant Messenger and ICQ logs.
- Flawless operations with archives
- Universal data sources (indexing of DBMS fields and various information systems)
